This April, we’re putting the spotlight on podcasting and giving our members everything they need to plan, record and share professional‑quality content.
We’re excited to launch our new Podcasting space in The Lounge, now open to Barbican members. Plus, behind the scenes we’ve been testing out the space and are pleased to announce our podcast platform Barbican: Plugged In.
To help you feel confident in the space we also have a series of workshops lined up and technical support packages available.
The much-anticipated podcasting space situated in The Lounge is now available for hire to our Barbican members.
Member benefit:
- 2 hours of studio time per month included in your membership
- Additional hours: £25 + VAT per hour
What’s in the space:
- Two cameras
- Sound desk
- Professional lighting and microphones
- A relaxed, beautiful setting (think blue sofas, plants and pink pillows)
The Lounge is ready to book now.

To help you make the most of the studio, we’re running two practical workshops:
- Mastering the Barbican Podcast Studio
- Professional Podcasting with Zero Budget

Barbican: Plugged In is the Barbican Creative Hub’s podcast platform. Where creativity is powered by conversation.
We are very excited to reveal the first episode from our first series Creative Growth: Stories from the Barbican. Created as part of the East Midlands Create Growth programme, this four-part mini-series explores how creative businesses, practitioners and organisations grow with purpose.
Through open conversations and lived experience, guests share lessons, challenges and practical insight to support freelancers, founders and creative teams navigating their own growth journeys.
Our First Episode:
Scaling Sustainably: Growing Theatre with Impact – with Toby Ealden, Zest
This episode explores Zest Theatre’s journey from grassroots theatre projects to nationally recognised touring productions. The conversation focuses on scaling responsibly, protecting mission and creating meaningful impact through work with young people and communities.

There’s a lot to learn with podcasting when you’re starting out, so optional technical support packages are also available if you need a hand. Please get in touch with us if this is of interest to you.
