The Nettle Dress: Film Screening, In Conversation & Q&A

As part of Project Fashion Fixed’s three-day takeover of Barbican Creative Hub, we are delighted to be hosting a special screening of the much-loved documentary The Nettle Dress.

Project Fashion Fixed is thrilled to be welcoming both the film’s director, Dylan Howitt, and textile artist Allan Brown to Lincoln as special guests for the takeover. They will join us in person for this very special evening screening and conversation.

The Nettle Dress follows Allan’s extraordinary seven-year journey to make a dress by hand from locally foraged stinging nettles. Beautiful, intimate and quietly captivating, the film explores our relationship with clothing, the natural world, craft, loss and the value of making things slowly.

Following the screening, Dylan and Allan will be in conversation, sharing more about the making of the film and the remarkable story behind the dress, followed by an audience Q&A.

This is a special opportunity to experience the film in the company of the artist and filmmaker at the heart of its story.
