Mosaic artist RACH, supported by Arts Council England’s DYCP scheme, embarked on an inspiring journey to the US to research the transformative power of mosaics.
Together with her friend Helen, a mental health nurse, they explored the breathtaking mosaic environments of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and the vibrant landscapes of Philadelphia and New York City, capturing stunning street art along the way.
Their joyful journey celebrated the contrasts between the accessible mosaic masterpieces of Isaiah and Julia Zagar and the iconic institutional art of MoMA.
Through these explorations across both cities, they witnessed firsthand how public and paid-for art fosters community, deep spiritual connection, and mental wellbeing.
They warmly invite you to a free presentation sharing uplifting stories of the “magic” and spirituality found within these urban environments.
Discover the wealth of street art and mosaics they encountered and learn how creative expression can truly uplift the human spirit.
What to expect:
- Presentation: mosaics, spirituality, and mental health
- Workshop: help build a new collaborative mosaic piece
- Refreshments: tea and coffee
Following the presentation, join a free, hands-on workshop to help build a beautiful collaborative mosaic that RACH has created specifically for this session.
No experience is necessary; everyone is welcome to contribute and discover the healing power of art.
